- Guru Nanak declares that he is leaving on a divine mission to spread God’s word and to sing in His glory.
- Guru Nanak visits Bhai Lalo at Saidpur. He refuses to eat at Diwan Malik Bhago’s feast because his food is tainted with blood of innocents.
- Guru Nanak visits Sheikh Sajjan, a thug, at Tulumba. The Sheikh tries to kill Guru Nanak. Guru Sahib puts the Sheikh on the path to salvation.
- Guru Nanak visits Haridwar and throws water towards his fields instead of at the rising sun. He enlightens the pilgrims about the futility of empty rituals.

- Guru Sahib visits Sheikh Abu Ali Qalandar at Panipat and holds a discourse with him.
- At Delhi, Guru Sahib visits Sufi Fakir named Majnu. Here God works a miracle, and the dead elephant of Emperor Sikander Lodhi comes back to life.
- At his next stop, in Gorakhmata, Guru Sahib preaches to Yogis and shows to them the True path of religion.
- Bitter soap-nuts become sweet at a place now called Reetha Sahib.
- Virtuous acts of a devotee save him from execution while adulterous ways of another turn his gold into charcoal.
- Guru Nanak’s merciful glance on a dead man’s soul saves him from hell.
- Guru Nanak travels through Ayodhya, Prayag, Varanasi, and Bodhgaya, guiding devotees and putting people on the True path to salvation.
- In Patna, Guru Nanak explains the true value of human birth and urges Salis Rai not to waste it.
- The witches of Kamrup turn Bhai Mardana into a ram. Guru Nanak saves Mardana and puts the enchantress Noor Shah and her companions on the path to salvation.
- Journeying through Bangladesh, Bengal, Assam and Odisha, Guru Nanak reaches Jagannath Puri.
- Almost every page reveals some facet of Guru Nanak's teachings and philosophy.
